The other day when I happened to miss my daily commute bus at 6.30pm from Bagmane Tech Park (apparently an isolated area in CV Raman Nagar), little did i think that getting an auto is a mission impossible.
I approached an autowalla who was snoring away to glory (he being the first in the auto stand!!); I almost screamed to wake him up but din't succeed. But it worked to wake up the next in the line. He unwillingly asked " yelli??" with a harsh tone. When i told him i had to goto RT Nagar he replied " bari drop aa madam? double kottbidi". The group gathered but no one was keen on kick starting the rickshaw.
This response really got on my nerves, went to a police constable standing nearby managing the traffic rather sipping a 1/2 kofy. When I complained that no one is ready to take the RT Nagar route, he calmly replied " illi yaavglu hangene madam, obobru barthaare, neeve svalpa jaasthi kot hogi" Alas!!I walked away from there in a huff thinking "kaadhi batte li kadeemaru"!!
Wonder if will ever be a day when they have some civic sense and exhibit responsibility towards the society. Can some strict laws be enforced for a proper functioning among these autowallas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
